Murder Mystery Wrap Ups
*** A Tribute to Charles Barrington Chase The people in attendance are here to honour multi-millionaire and
philanthropist, Charles Barrington Chase, who at age 75 has announced
his retirement from business to devote more time to his charitable
activities. The banquet hall is the scene of the Bakon - Heggs wedding. Bobby
Bakon, son of the notorious crime boss, Billy Bakon, is marrying
the lovely Heather Heggs. Unfortunately the Bakon family is still
in shock after the recent murder of the wife and mother, Roberta. A few years ago, three long-time friends formed a band. It contained, simply, a lead guitar, bass, and drums. They loved their music and were very happy with their little group. That was until the drummer met and fell in love with a girl, named Ono Nott-Yoko. They were soon married. From that point on, things changed for the three lads and not for the better. At first, Ono just wanted to be part of the band. She wanted to sing or shake her maracas, but she did it all rather badly. Soon she wanted to write songs for them to sing (they were very bad songs) and then she wanted to change the band’s image and style. The three friends survived her interference and soon she became bored with her musical adventures and moved on to more serious pursuits. At about that time she also became bored with her husband, the drummer, and thought it would be good fun to flirt and tease the two other band members, wrapping them around her finger as she did so. Soon all three in the band secretly shared the same strong love for Ono Nott-Yoko. This did what her previous meddling could not, it ripped the band apart and they spent more time arguing and fighting than playing music. Last month, the inevitable happened - the drummer was murdered. He was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car, parked in his own driveway, stabbed through the heart. Quite naturally, the not-too grieving widow and the two remaining band members have come under intense police scrutiny since that time. Today is a memorial performance of sorts; the first without their drummer and it will be their last together. In the short time since her husband’s death, Ono has taken up with the lead singer/guitar player and intends to be part of the tribute, shaking her maracas as only she can. The Merlot brothers, Mickey and Max, run a wine distribution company.
Neither is a very nice person and will use extortion or coercion,
strong-arm tactics, threats, or whatever they think necessary to
get their wines into restaurants or retail outlets. Also, in order
to increase their profit margins, they do not hesitate to alter
their product, water it down, or change labels, using an inferior,
cheaper wine instead. Their methods have ruined many people and
made many more very, very angry. It
has come to light that a plot is being hatched to kill Clevor
Spindley, the president of NORPAC Controls. The person behind this
plot is Cleve Stabansee, who intends to replace Spindley as the
head of this very successful company. To help him in his attempt,
Stabansee has enlisted the help of the toughest gang in BC, The
Nefarious NORPAC Nine! Lead by Don Rumball, a.k.a. “the Don”,and
his right hand man, Percy Poindexter, other gang members include
Lark Chirpback, Gabriel Snickers, Hal Watchyerback, Harry Bourbonspill,
Boozanne Slosh and Ahandon Herendsy (pronounced ‘a hand on
her end, see”). The
Safe Syringe Supply Co., a local business that manufactures syringes,
has a rather unique patent pending: A patent on a Personal
Laser Lobotomy Machine! Company members are here tonight seeking
investors for the machine’s development. Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer One Christmas there was a terrible tragedy – the kind of event that is often immortalized in song: “Grandma
got run over by a reindeer, She’d
been drinking too much eggnog and we warned her not to go, Now,
some years later and after a very lengthy investigation into
herdeath, the authorities are preparing to charge Santa Claus
with Vehicular Homicide! This could not only change Christmas as
we know it, but could threaten its very existence!! The law firm
of Mistle, Toe and Holly has been retained to defend Santa by the
E.L.F. (Elves’ Legal Fund). History:
Forty-five years ago Tim Yule and Ted Tide, longtime friends,
partnered in business. Tim was a candy-maker by trade and had
developed a candy cane that tasted better and was more nutritious
than anything else on the market. Ted was a “money-man” who,
even at his young age, was approaching his first million. Tonight:
Since the death of Ted Tide forty years ago, the two families
have been involved in a very nasty feud. Their deep hatred
for each other has boiled over once or twice in that time,
but they have never spoken to each other and go out of their
way to avoid all contact.
